The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 140(4), 143(1) and (2) of, and paragraphs 4, 5 and 6 of Schedule 8 to the Local Government Finance Act 1988(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Non-Domestic Rating Contributions (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 31st December 1998.
(2) In these Regulations "the 1992 Regulations" means the Non-Domestic Rating Contributions (Wales) Regulations 1992(2).
2. In relation to financial years beginning on or after 1st April 1999, Schedules 2 and 4 to the 1992 Regulations are amended as follows:-�
(a)in paragraph 2(12) of Schedule 2 to the 1992 Regulations, for "0.996" there shall be substituted "0.999";
(b)in paragraph 8(1) of that Schedule, for "1.1 per cent" there shall be substituted "1.2 per cent";
(c)for Schedule 4 to the 1992 Regulations there shall be substituted the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations apply to Wales.
They amend the rules contained in the Non-Domestic Rating Contribution (Wales) Regulations 1992 for calculating the contributions to be made by billing authorities by substituting a new multiplier in paragraph 2(12) of Schedule 2 (assumptions as to gross amount); a new percentage figure in paragraph 8(1) of that Schedule, and a new Schedule 4 (adult population figures).
