(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Forestry (Exceptions from Restrictions of Felling) Regulations 1979 by removing the exception in favour of felling in accordance with a plan of operations approved under specified schemes under which the Forestry Commissioners make grants pursuant to section 1 of the Forestry Act 1979. The Woodland Grant Scheme is the only current scheme of those specified. The amendment does not apply to felling pursuant to agreements made under the Woodland Grant Scheme before the Regulations come into force.
1967 c. 10; section 1(1) provides that references in the Act to "the Commissioners" are to the Forestry Commissioners; section 9(5)(a) was amended by the Forestry Act 1979 (c. 21), Schedule 1.
A scheme under which the Commissioners enter into agreements to make grants pursuant to section 1 of the Forestry Act 1979 (c. 21).
