CLIMATE CHANGE LEVY

The Treasury, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 30(3) of the Finance Act 2000(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Finance Act 2000, Schedule 6 Part V, (Appointed Day) Order 2000.
2. The date appointed as the day on which paragraphs 59 and 60 of Part V of Schedule 6 to the Finance Act 2000 come into force is 2 January 2001.
3. The date appointed as the day on which paragraphs 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58 and 61 of Part V of Schedule 6 to the Finance Act 2000 come into force is 29 January 2001.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 2 January 2001 the provisions of primary law that empower Customs and Excise to make regulations about the registration process for climate change levy(2) (CCL).
The primary law applying to CCL registration is brought into force by the Order on 29 January 2001(3).
Paragraphs 59 and 60 of Schedule 6 to the Finance Act 2000 (c. 17).
Paragraphs 53 to 58 and paragraph 61 of Schedule 6 to the Finance Act 2000.
