The Education (Mandatory Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

  Made 6th August 2002 
  Laid before Parliament 9th August 2002 
  Coming into force 1st September 2002 

The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 4(2) of, and paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Education Act 1962[1], and by sections 3(1) and (3) of the Education Act 1973[2], hereby makes the following Regulations:

     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Mandatory Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st September 2002.

    
2. The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 2002[3] shall be amended in accordance with these Regulations.

     3. In paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 3 for "subject to paragraph (2)" substitute "subject to paragraph (3)".

    
4.  - (1) Schedule 5 (Sandwich Courses) shall be amended as follows.

    (2) In paragraph 1(1)(e) omit "a necessary".

    (3) For paragraph (1)(1)(g)(i) substitute -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 2002.

The amendments to paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 3 and 1(1)(e) of Schedule 5 correct drafting errors.

The amendment to paragraph 1(1)(g) of Schedule 5 refers to the new Health Authorities and Strategic Health Authorities established under the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002.
