In accordance with section 4(3) of the Prices Act 1974(1), the Secretary of State has consulted, in such manner as appeared to him to be appropriate having regard to the subject-matter and urgency of this Order, with such organisations representative of interests substantially affected by this Order as appeared to him, having regard to those matters, to be appropriate.
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(1)(c) and section 4(4) of that Act(2).
1. This Order may be cited as the Indication of Prices (Beds) (Revocation) Order 2012 and comes into force on 1st October 2012.
2. The Indication of Prices (Beds) Order 1978(3) is revoked.

This Order revokes the Indication of Prices (Beds) Order 1978 (S.I. 1978/1716, amended by S.I. 1979/364). The Indication of Prices (Beds) Order 1978 prohibited any person who indicated that a bed was or may be for sale by him from indicating a price at which that bed may be sold by another person. Some of its provisions lapsed following repeal, by the Competition Act 1980 (c.21), of the Price Commission Act 1977 (c.33) under which such provisions were made.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. The Explanatory Memorandum which accompanies this instrument is available alongside the instrument on www.legislation.gov.uk.
