The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 25 of the Postal Services Act 2011(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Postal Services Act 2011 (Specified Day) Order 2012.
2. The day specified for the provisions listed in article 3 to come into force is 1st April 2012.
3. The provisions are-
(a)articles 2 to 12 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Accrued Pension Rights) Order 2012(2); and
(b)articles 1(3) and 2 to 9 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Assets) Order 2012(3).

Section 25 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (c.5) provides that the Secretary of State may specify by Order a day on which other Orders made under Part 2 of that Act will come into force.
Two Orders, the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Accrued Pension Rights) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/687) and the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Assets) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/688) were laid before Parliament on 9th March 2012. This Order provides that the operative provisions of those Orders will come into force on 1st April 2012.
