In accordance with section 10(2) of that Act, the Secretary of State has taken into consideration the requirements of local and national planning, including the requirements of agriculture, and is satisfied as to expediency.
This Order is made in compliance with the provisions of Parts I and III of Schedule 1 of that Act.
1. This Order may be cited as the A50 Trunk Road (Uttoxeter Growth Corridor Slip Roads) Order 2019 and shall come into force on 4th September 2019.
2. In this Order-
(a)"the trunk road" means the A50 trunk road;
(b)"the plan" means the plan numbered CDX8609/SRO/05 marked the "The A50 Trunk Road (Uttoxeter Growth Corridor Slip Roads) Order 2019", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Deposited Deposit Service, Communities and Local Government, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA; and

4. The centre line of each of the slip roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan.
5. The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of the slip roads that-
(i)where the highway is maintainable at the public expense by a local highway authority, the part in question shall be maintained by that authority, and
(ii)where the highway is not so maintainable and is not maintainable under a special enactment or by reason of tenure, enclosure or prescription, the Secretary of State shall be under no duty to maintain the part in question
until, in either case, a date to be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to the highway authority for that highway. The date specified will not be later than the date on which the relevant route is opened for traffic.

Article 2
The routes of the slip roads are as follows:
(a)Junction with A522 Uttoxeter Road roundabout north of the trunk road
Two routes which the Secretary of State proposes to construct to connect the eastbound carriageway of the trunk road with the A522 Uttoxeter Road at Uttoxeter in the County of Staffordshire, the diverge and merge slip roads along these routes being given the numbers 1 and 2 respectively on the plan.
(b)Junction with A522 Uttoxeter Road roundabout south of the trunk road
Two routes which the Secretary of State proposed to construct to connect the westbound carriageway of the trunk road with the A522 Uttoxeter Road at Uttoxeter in the County of Staffordshire, the diverge and merge slip roads along these routes being given the numbers 3 and 4 respectively on the plan.
(This note is not part of the Order)
Staffordshire County Council has constructed the improved slip roads shown in the Schedule, replacing the existing substandard slip roads that link the A50 with the A522. This Order provides that those slip roads will become trunk roads from the date that this Order comes into force.
1980 c. 66. Section 10 is amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c. 22), section 22(2)(a), and the Infrastructure Act 2015 (c. 7), paragraph 10(2) of Schedule 1. There are further amendments to section 10 which are not relevant to this Order.
