HIGHWAYS, WALES

The Dolgellau to South of Birkenhead Trunk Road (A494) (Improvement at Tafarn y Gelyn) Order 2000

  Made 10th May 2000 
  Coming Into Force 25th May 2000 

The National Assembly for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and of all other enabling powers:-

     1. The new highway which the National Assembly for Wales proposes to construct along the route described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

    
2. The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

    
3. The length of the trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall become an unclassified road as from the date on which the National Assembly for Wales notifies the County Council of Denbighshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.

    
4. In this Order all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

      i. "the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2 NAFW 2 marked "The Dolgellau to South of Birkenhead Trunk Road (A494) (Improvement at Tafarn y Gelyn) Order 2000" signed by authority of the National Assembly for Wales and deposited at the National Assembly for Wales, Record Storage and Retreval Unit (RSRU), Neptune Point,Ocean Way, Cardiff

      ii. "the new trunk road" means the highway mentioned in Article 1 of this Order;

      iii. "the trunk road" means the Dolgellau to South of Birkenhead Trunk Road (A494).

     5. This Order shall come into force on 25th May

2000 and may be cited as the Dolgellau to South of Birkenhead Trunk Road (A494) (Improvement at Tafarn y Gelyn) Order 2000.

SCHEDULE 1

ROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD


The route of the new trunk road is a route situated in the County of Denbighshire between Llanferres and Mold as follows:-

A route about 0.72 kilometres in length starting at a point 115 metres north of the junction of the unclassified roads leading to Moel Famau and Maeshafn and the trunk road (known as Pen y Waun Crossroads), marked Point A on the deposited plan) and going in a north easterly direction, terminating at a point about 205 metres north east of the junction of the unclassified road leading to Cilcain, at Tafarn y Gelyn, and the trunk road, (marked point B on the deposited plan).



SCHEDULE 2

LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD


The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the trunk road starting at a point on the trunk road 285 metres north of Pont y Cacwn (shown as AA on the deposited plan) and extending in a north easterly direction for approximately 0.45 kilometres to a point on the trunk road approximately 158 metres north-east of its junction with the unclassified road to Cilcain (shown as BB on the deposited plan).
