The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 29 and 126(4) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and application
1.
- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Amendment (No.2) (Wales) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st May 2001.
(2) These Regulations apply to Wales only.
Amendment of the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992
2.
- (1) The National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992[2] shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraph of this Regulation.
(2) In Schedule 10 (drugs and other substances not to be prescribed for supply under pharmaceutical services), the following entries shall be omitted -

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations further amend the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992 ("the principal Regulations") which regulate the terms on which doctors provide general medical services under the National Health Service Act 1977.
Regulation 2 deletes specified nicotine replacement therapy products from the list in Schedule 10 to the principal Regulations. Schedule 10 lists the drugs and other substances which may not be prescribed in the course of pharmaceutical services provided under the National Health Service Act 1977.
