The Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2004

  Made 6th July 2004 
  Coming into force 1st September 2004 

The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 408, 537(1) and (4) and 569(4) and (5) of the Education Act 1996[1] and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales[2], and after consulting those persons with whom consultation appeared to it to be desirable pursuant to section 408(5) of the Education Act 1996:

Name, commencement and application
     1.  - (1) These Regulations are called the Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and come into force on 1st September 2004.

    (2) These Regulations apply to Wales.

Amendment of Regulations
    
2.  - (1) The Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999[3] are amended as follows.

    (2) In regulation 3(1) insert the following definitions in the appropriate alphabetical order  - 

    (3) In each of the places where the words "Schedule 3" occur in regulation 10(1), regulation 12(1) and paragraph 21 of Part II of Schedule 1 substitute the words "Schedules 3 and 4".

    (4) Omit paragraph 16 of Schedule 3.

    (5) After Schedule 3 insert the following -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999 which provide for (amongst other things) the information which must be included in the school prospectus. Regulation 2 inserts some new definitions and also inserts a new Schedule 4 prescribing the information about examination results and vocational qualifications that governing bodies are required to publish in their school prospectus.
