HARBOUR RATES (BUNCRANA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1972.

HARBOUR RATES (BUNCRANA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1972.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Buncrana Harbour) Order, 1972.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of September, 1972.

3. In this Order "the Order of 1956" means the Harbour Rates (Buncrana Harbour) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1956 ).

4. The Schedule to the Buncrana Harbour Order, 1929 (confirmed by the Pier and Harbour Provisional Order Confirmation Act, 1929 (No. 3 (Private) of 1929)), is hereby amended as follows:

(a) by the substitution at heading number 1 for "9d per ton" (inserted by the Order of 1956) of "5p per ton", and

(b) by the substitution for heading numbers III (12) and III (13) (inserted by the Order of 1956 of the following:

"(12) Coals, per metric ton .. .. 6p.

(13) Molasses, per metric ton .. .. 8p."

5. (1) The maximum rate to be charged by the Buncrana Harbour Commissioners for the deposit of coal on the quays shall be 7p per square yard for three months or part thereof.

(2) Article 4 of the Order of 1956 is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to authorise the Buncrana Harbour Commissioners to charge revised goods and tonnage rates and quayage charges for the deposit of coal on quays.
