I Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 39 and 63 of the Abattoirs Act, 1988 (No. 8 of 1988) hereby make the following Regulations:- 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Abattoirs Act, 1988 (Veterinary Examination) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2003. |

(2) The Abattoirs Act, 1988 (Veterinary Examination) Regulations, 1992 to 2003 shall be construed together as one. 2. The Abattoirs Act, 1988 (Veterinary Examination) Regulations, 1992 to 2003 in relation to bovine animals presented for slaughter or slaughtered in abattoir licence numbers CK1, CK6, CK16, CK18, CK21, CK28, CK33, CK34, CK36, CK40, CK49, CK61 and CK78 may be disapplied in respect of the following provisions:- |

Regulation 6 (2) (b) and (3) (a) (iii), |

Regulation 9 (2), |
|||||
First Schedule, Part II, paragraph (m), and |
|||||
Second Schedule, Part II, paragraph (z). |

These Regulations provide that certain procedures in relation to the ante-mortem and post-mortem veterinary examination of bovine animals may be disapplied in specified abattoirs. |
