(Commencement) Order, 2003

I, Micheál Martin, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Ombudsman for Children Act, 2002 (No. 22 of 2002) hereby order as follows:

1.       This Order may be cited as the Ombudsman for Children Act, 2002 (Section 4) (Commencement) Order, 2004.

2.       The day of 18 December, 2003 is appointed as the day on which section 4 of the Ombudsman for Children Act ( No. 22 of 2002 ) comes into operation.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

The purpose of this section is to bring Section 4 of the Ombudsman for Children Act 2002 ( No. 22 of 2002 ) into operation. Section 4 provides for the appointment of the Ombudsman for Children.
