PUBLIC HEALTH (TOBACCO) ACT 2002 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2004.

I, MICHEÁL MARTIN, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (No. 6 of 2002), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2004.

2. In this Order “Act of 2004” means the Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Act 2004 (No. 6 of 2004).

3. The 29th day of March 2004 is hereby appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (No. 6 of 2002) shall come into operation:

(a) section 5 (amended by section 3 of the Act of 2004) insofar as it is not already in operation,

(b) section 46 (inserted by section 15 of the Act of 2004),

(c) section 48 (amended by section 17 of the Act of 2004),

(d) section 49,

(e) section 50 (inserted by section 18 of the Act of 2004),

(f) section 51,

(g) section 52, and

(h) section 53.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order may be cited as Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2004.

The Order commences sections 5 (insofar as it is not already in operation), 46, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 and 53 of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (No. 6 of 2002) with effect from 29 March 2004.
