HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND

The A596 Trunk Road (Northside Junction, Workington) Order 2001

  Made 29th October 2001 
  Coming into force 31st October 2001 

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the A596 Trunk Road (Northside Junction, Workington) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 31st October 2001.

    (2) In this Order, all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.

    
2. The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road from the date when this Order comes into force.

    
3. The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered HA 10/PS/284 marked "The A596 Trunk Road (Northside Junction, Workington) Order 2001", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions and deposited at the DTLR Deposit Document Service, Floor 13, Ashdown House, St. Leonards-on-Sea. TN37 3GA.

    
4. The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of the new trunk road that -

THE SCHEDULE

Route of the new trunk road


The route of the new trunk road is approximately 583 metres in length, from a point on the A596 Trunk Road 149 metres north of the existing junction with the A597 New Bridge Road, south to the centre of the proposed roundabout a distance of approximately 162 metres. The route proceeds south eastwards through the span of the Northside Railway Bridge for a distance of 421 metres, to a point 306 metres south east of the centre of the New Bridge Northside
