SOCIAL SECURITY

The Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2004

  Made 1st March 2004 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 25(1) and (2) of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
     1. This Order may be cited as the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2004.

Appointed Day
    
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of section 3 (authorities administering housing benefit and council tax benefit) of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997, in so far as it inserts section 122E(3) and (4) into the Social Security Administration Act 1992[2], is 2nd March 2004.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order provides for the coming into force of section 3 of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997, in so far as it inserts section 122E(3) and (4) into the Social Security Administration Act 1992, which relates to the supply and use of information by authorities administering housing benefit and council tax benefit.
