PRISONS ACT 1970 (SECTION 7) ORDER 2005

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7(1) of the Prisons Act 1970 (No. 11 of 1970) (as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 298 of 1997 )), and after consultation with the Visiting Committee to Saint Patrick's Institution, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prisons Act 1970 (Section 7) Order 2005.

2. The period of 24 months beginning on 28 June 2005 is specified for the purposes of section 7 of the Prisons Act 1970 ( No. 11 of 1970 ).
